The Trommel Sieve is the most effective engineering component forming the logistical backbone of recycling and raw material preparation plants, separating materials with a rational discipline according to their size. Projected with Atlas Yem’s advanced technology vision, these rotary drum screening systems classify complex waste groups or bulky raw materials with surgical precision, elevating the operational authority of the facility to the peak. It is not merely a screening process; it is a sharp engineering shield that maximizes throughput performance while minimizing material waste by optimizing material circulation in a proactive manner.
Our systems, which eliminate the risk of clogging at a rational level thanks to their rotating drum structure, operate with unwavering stability even with the most challenging and moist materials. Managing the separation capacity of your facility with digital discipline, our Trommel sieve solutions represent the most profitable and error-free link of sustainable production. With Atlas Yem, every particle is directed to the right place with rational speed, even in the most complex lines of your facility.
A trommel sieve is a screening machine that works by rotating a cylindrical drum around its own axis. In the industry it is also known as a trommel screen or rotary drum screen. The holes on the drum surface separate the material by size. Fine particles pass through the holes to the line below, while coarse particles are discharged at the end of the drum.
The material is fed into the inlet of the slightly inclined drum. As the drum rotates, the material is lifted and falls back onto the screen surface by gravity. This movement allows the material to contact the screen many times, increasing separation efficiency. Brush or air cleaning systems prevent the screen holes from clogging.
Trommel sieves are used in both recycling plants and feed mills. In feed mills, they usually work at the raw material intake point, removing straw, string, stones and large foreign matter from grain. In recycling lines, they classify waste of different sizes.
A trommel sieve works with a rotating drum motion and is mainly preferred for the pre-separation of coarse and mixed materials. A vibro sieve, on the other hand, works with vibration and is used for more precise screening tasks such as removing dust from pellets and granular products. Both machines can work together at different points of the same plant.
When choosing a trommel sieve, hourly capacity, drum diameter and length, screen hole size and the moisture content of the material should be evaluated together. For moist and sticky materials, the effectiveness of the cleaning system becomes important. In addition, being able to adjust the drum speed to the material directly affects screening efficiency.
